Katie and Gibson both share a love of horses. They both discovered they had this in common after meeting online. Gibson admits in his rehearsal dinner toast, he knew not too long after they started dating, they would get married, and Katie was the woman he had been looking for. With the stage set, Katie and Gibson chose their date of October 10, 2015 to tie the knot. Friends and family gathered at Lexington’s newest venue, The Apiary for a lovely rehearsal dinner, during which, they recanted many stories about both their families, and about the bride and groom as people. These fantastic words of encouragement also serve as the driving narrative to their wedding story.
With the iconic Lexington Country Club as the backdrop, the wedding party started their day getting ready. Katie’s mom hand made each of Katie’s attendants her own comforter based on each girl’s personality or hobby. These were quite lovely! With matching robes on, hair and makeup began. Katie was done rather quickly so we could get ready to do a first look with Gibson. Once the bride and groom were ready, they got to see each other out in front of the club. From there we headed out to the golf course for some wonderful couple’s portraits by Josh of Bella Grace Studio.
Once photos were completed, the wedding party headed out to the lovely Mt. Horeab Church, where Katie’s parents were also married. This lovely small church, is located on Ironworks Pike, in the heart of horse country. It provided an intimate feel to their very special day.
Back to LCC for a gorgeous reception, put together by Deanna Dillender and team of Great Expectations, KY. They did an outstanding job turning LCC into a beautiful reception venue. Featuring a delicious pasta bar, and custom ice sculpture pouring station, this reception certainly had many personal touches, including a sparkler entrance! L
